How do I lock Grout Brush Pole?Updated 3 hours ago
TL;DR: Extend the Grout Brush Pole to your preferred length, then twist the grey and green pole sections in opposite directions until they tighten. The small green collar is a spacer, not the lock.
How to lock
Extend the pole to your preferred length.
Hold the grey section with one hand and the green section above it with the other.
Twist the two sections in opposite directions (a quarter-turn is usually enough) until you feel them tighten. You are screwing an internal thread together. This is the actual lock.
The green collar is not the lock
The small green ring under the lock/unlock sticker is a spacer, not the mechanism. Spinning it will not tighten the pole. Make sure you are twisting the pole sections themselves.
Quick check
Give the pole a gentle push downwards. If it does not slide, it is locked. Still slipping? Unscrew, realign the sections, then twist again until snug.
Threads feel stripped?
Wipe dust or grit off the metal thread, then retry. Debris in the thread is the most common cause of a loose feel.
Sticker points to the collar?
The arrow sticker sits just above the collar to show the direction of twist. Twist the pole sections, not the collar itself.
